Will Smith Accused of Using AI to Generate Fan Images

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Will Smith, the 56-year-old star of Bad Boys, has been accused of using artificial intelligence to generate images of his fans. In a promotional video, Smith is seen singing alongside a group of supposed fans holding oversized handwritten signs and appearing emotional.

However, in parts of the video, some of these “fans” display body features that resemble the flaws often found in AI-generated content. In one moment, a man is shown tearfully holding a sign that reads: “The song You Can Make It helped me beat cancer. Thank you, Will.” Yet his right hand appears fused with the hand of a woman standing beside him, and that woman’s wrist seems merged with the headband of another nearby fan.

The I Am Legend actor captioned the video: “Seeing all of you up close is my favorite part of this tour. Thank you for coming out to see me.”

It remains unclear if Smith himself was at fault, as The Atlantic has reported that YouTube sometimes “enhances” videos with AI without notifying content creators.

Smith recently kicked off his Based on a True Story concert tour in the UK, following the release of his album of the same name.
